Emi Williams (The Jangle Bees), Abi Sparkman (SunDog), Dawson Gentleman (Baby Dawson D-Dog the Swan), Andy Bickerton (Johnny Prizm), and Derek MF Haukaas joined forces in the spring of 2025. After a slew of summer and fall shows, they have hit the studio hard with Derek Haukaas at Frostline Studios, and have an album set to release in spring of 2026.

Their songs often begin in singer-songwriter style, with simple acoustic accompaniment and personal lyrics; as the vocal harmonies, and layers of guitar and keyboard evolve, the songs turn into what you could call “songwriter rock'“. Melodically and lyrically driven songs executed as a rock band— think Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Wilco, and boygenius.

As part of Bandcamp Friday, Shady Pines Retirement Home released a single from their upcoming album on Oct. 3rd of this year, and will be availble on Bandcamp only for the time being.
